Dimitra is a graduate of the Academy of Theater of Bolshoi, where she studied for 5 years as a scholarship scholarship student. Since her return to Athens, her city of origin, she has danced with numerous companies and taught ballet, repertory, character dance, and pedagogy in the most prestigious training schools (including the National School of Athens). At the same time, she has choreographed for a number of classical performances, as well as for fashion shows and promotional films (Triumph International, Dance Wear, etc.).
For the past 11 years, she has taught in Paris, notably at Rick Odums’s International Center for Jazz Dance.
In ballet, she teaches the Vaganova method which she studied at the Bolshoi school, but also adds personal elements. In her classes, she stresses technique and placement, but also works on musicality and expression, combining the use of space with elaborate combinations which force the dancer to push her limits while enjoying herself.
Floor Barre : She created her own technique for teaching Floor Barre, combining it with Yoga and classical technique. She uses yoga breathing for the lightness, abdominal control, and large stretches, combined with classical technique for alignment, toning, and musicality.
Children’s Courses: With children, she teaches the Vaganova method she studied at the Bolshoi, but in a more simplified manner. They work on body alinement and musicality, rhythm (essential at this age), but also expression to enhance the theatrical side of dance.
